Mental and Spiritual Health
Raw and living foodists are some of the most spiritually sound people I have encountered. It may have to do with the fact that individuals who practice the principles of raw and living food have great respect for the earth and for every living thing. There is also a great appreciation for whatever great abundance of food they are blessed with. Generally, there is a lack of focus on the self and more focus on helping others.
As I continue practicing the living food lifestyle, I have just gotten the food thing down. In the realm of spirituality, I have recently completed meditation instruction to begin a meditation practice. I am still in many ways on the outside looking in. I consider this helpful because it has allowed me to observe the full picture of the raw and living food lifestyle. I can only hope to someday embody some of the spiritual strength that I have witnessed in the many raw foodists I have had the pleasure to meet during the past two years. Meditation, yoga and fasting are discussed in The Raw Food Diet Myth as practices common to raw foodists.
