Economic Impact
Proposing change of any kind in the 21st century requires continuous and careful thought. Politics and economic interest groups are at the heart of many of these considerations. Without the money and powerful support, sweeping change is likely not to occur. The challenge with the raw food lifestyle goes beyond politics and money. It ultimately goes to credibility and scientific support for the raw and living food lifestyle.
There are 6 important components of the raw and living food lifestyle that should be studied for scientific, political and economic support. A requirement for at least sustainable, and ideally, organic food coming from all food producers in the United States; banning refined sugar (or at least providing a warning about the negative health impact); providing education on keeping living enzymes in at least some portion of our daily diet; acknowledging the importance of eating a diet with a healthy pH balance; improving the quality of drinking water; providing education on the importance of amino acids. In The Raw Food Diet Myth we will look at the economics of implementing the six proposed raw and living food lifestyle recommendations above. This includes a potential decrease in healthcare costs, the impact on our domestic food suppliers and related industries, and the impact on current raw food suppliers (excluding fresh produce suppliers). We’ll end with a look at a grass roots movement that asks, what if each one of us did something to make a difference every day?
